Common use
Inspra is used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure after a heart attack. It works by blocking aldosterone, a hormone that causes salt and fluid retention, helping to reduce blood pressure and strain on the heart.

Dosage and direction
Take Inspra once or twice daily, with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor. The dose is based on your condition, kidney function, and blood potassium levels.

Precautions
Before using Inspra, inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, high potassium levels, or are taking potassium supplements. Regular monitoring of blood potassium and kidney function is necessary during treatment.

Contraindications
Do not use Inspra if you have high potassium levels (hyperkalemia), severe kidney impairment, or are taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor.

Possible side effect
Common side effects include dizziness, increased potassium levels, and mild fatigue. Serious reactions may include abnormal heart rhythms or kidney problems due to high potassium.

Drug interaction
Eplerenone can interact with potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors, NSAIDs, and certain antibiotics. Let your doctor know about all medications and supplements you’re using.

Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it’s close to your next scheduled dose. Do not take two doses at once.

Overdose
In case of overdose, seek immediate medical help. Symptoms may include confusion, fainting, or an irregular heartbeat due to electrolyte imbalance.

Storage
Store Inspra at room temperature away from moisture, light, and heat. Keep it in its original container and out of reach of children.
